| Blue Ribbon Horsemanship and Training has been in existence since 1995. Paul Butler and his daughter Samantha have learned, trained, studied, and ridden with some of the finest horsemen in the United States. The system they have developed is hard learned and designed to instill confidence in the rider, answer questions, and never leave a student confused. They have shown hundreds and hundreds of students that attending a Clinic or School can be FUN! For over 26 years, Paul Butler managed public range lands from the back of a horse. After graduating with a BA from Utah State University in 1979, Paul went on to become a professional range conservationist with the U.S. Forest Service. Like his father before him, he spent his days on the land, slowly developing his own horse training system. Unfortunately, he found that the reason our public lands are managed from an office is because there are few employees in the government that want to spend any time in the field, especially on a horse! He developed the first of its kind, Horse Safety Horsemanship Training Course and Video for the Forest Service, traveling to many of the forests in the West to teach skills long forgotten or never learned by the greenhorns who call themselves "range management specialists", or "district rangers". As the one and only FS employee in the nation who taught horsemanship, he was amazed at the lack of horse knowledge and confidence exhibited by hundreds of employees. Blue Ribbon Horsemanship and Training was born. He taught horsemanship to government employees for over 10 years. Now retired from the government, he works full-time as a PROFESSIONAL TEACHER, a vocation he strove towards for many years. A profession which is different from the so-called clinicians you see on TV. Can't understand what they say or demonstrate? They all look great, but so would you if you had 30 trained horses to choose from for demonstration or on a professionally trained reining horse 15 years old. Butler teaches to EVERY student, on THEIR level of expertise. Every question is answered. All of Blue Ribbon's gains have been earned. They know what your struggles are and how to help you over the obstacles. One thing is certain, Paul, Samantha, and Cole will always be students of the Art of Horsemanship. They constantly study and evolve, always seeking new and easier to understand training techniques they can pass on to their students. The time has finally arrived for Blue Ribbon Horsemanship to expand beyond Idaho, Montana, and Utah, to teach courses in YOUR community!
